A southwest Wisconsin Amish couple was injured when their buggy was hit from behind by a vehicle slamming into the rear of another vehicle. The Layfayette County Sheriff says it happened Sunday morning around 8:15 on State Highway 126 near Belmont.
Amos and Katie Beiler were both taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Authorities say a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Scott Durr of Shullsburg rear-ended the vehicle in front of him driven by 82-year-old Gary Voights of Belmont whose vehicle was then pushed into the buggy. Durr was cited for inattentive driving.
