REAL DUBUQUE NEWS (RDN) President Donald Trump's weekend campaign rallies are back on. A White House official told Reuters on Friday that Trump will hold back-to-back in-person rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday, in addition to nearly 20 telephone rallies for Republican candidates in the final days before Tuesday's midterm elections. The reversal came a day after the Republican National Committee canceled Trump's planned Saturday rally in Salina, Kansas, and Sunday rally in Dubuque, Iowa, announcing instead a 72-hour phone sprint meant to reach more voters nationwide. The Iowa venue was in flux through Friday. The Associated Press reported the Iowa appearance moved from Dubuque to Cedar Rapids, then back to Dubuque hours later, with the RNC confirming Trump would campaign in Dubuque and Salina. Radio Dubuque, citing news partner KCRG, reported Friday afternoon that the rescheduled Iowa rally was likely headed to Cedar Rapids instead of Dubuque. Both states are home to competitive Senate races. In Iowa, Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson faces Democrat Josh Turek in a race polling shows within a point, according to a RealClearPolitics average cited by USA Today. The MAGA Inc. telephone rally for Iowa remains on the schedule for Monday, Nov. 2, as part of the broader phone push.
