REAL DUBUQUE NEWS (RDN) President Donald Trump has canceled the in-person rally planned for Sunday, Nov. 1, at Dubuque's Five Flags Event Center, the Republican National Committee said Thursday. The event, announced Oct. 22 and updated this week to a 3 p.m. remarks time, was to be the closing Iowa stop of Trump's midterm push, two days before the Nov. 3 election. Iowa Republican operatives familiar with the planning told the Des Moines Register the in-person rally is canceled and will be replaced with a virtual event. MAGA Inc., a campaign group aligned with Trump, said it will host a series of tele-rallies with the president in at least 19 states, including Kansas and Iowa, before Election Day. The Iowa tele-rally is set for Monday, Nov. 2, one operative told the Register. Trump also canceled a rally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, in Salina, Kansas, replacing it with a tele-rally. Trump told reporters he did not "feel like I have to go to Kansas." Reuters reported the president has hosted 25 rallies in 19 states since Oct. 1, often speaking for more than an hour; he told a crowd in Mississippi on Monday, where he sounded hoarse, "God didn't make your vocal cords to do a rally every day." He is still expected to travel to Florida on Friday, Reuters reported. This update supersedes the schedule RDN reported Oct. 27: doors 11:30 a.m., program 1:30 p.m., remarks 3 p.m. CT at Five Flags, free tickets through the RNC events page with RSVP required. The Dubuque stop would have closed a two-rally Iowa swing that opened in Sioux City on Oct. 22, and would have fallen on the sixth anniversary of Trump's Nov. 1, 2020, rally at Dubuque Regional Airport.
