Western Dubuque Hosting Bus Rodeo Oct. 31 to Recruit Drivers

REAL DUBUQUE NEWS (RDN) The Western Dubuque Community School District is stepping up its effort to recruit bus drivers, offering hiring bonuses and hosting a Bus Rodeo later this month for prospective drivers, Radio Dubuque reported. The district will hold the Bus Rodeo on Saturday, October 31 at Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, where prospective drivers can learn more about the job. Superintendent Dan Butler said the event is designed to help ease fears some people have about driving a school bus. Butler said the district is also offering incentives to attract new members to its transportation team. The Western Dubuque district spans 555 square miles across five counties. Those unable to attend the October 31 rodeo can contact the district office for more information.
