City of Dubuque Water Department crews have closed Grandview Avenue between Loras Boulevard and Delhi Street to isolate and repair an unexpected main line failure discovered early Monday.
Excavation contractors are actively replacing a cracked 8-inch cast iron distribution pipe. Municipal engineers confirmed that water pressure has stabilized throughout the surrounding neighborhood, and no widespread boil water advisory is in effect.
The roadway closure will remain active continuously overnight until backfilling and temporary cold-patch asphalt resurfacing is completed Tuesday afternoon.
