The Dubuque City Council convened Monday evening at the Historic Federal Building, approving several key municipal contracts and advancing land use revisions across the central corridor.
The centerpiece action was a unanimous authorization for a ,240,000 contract award dedicated to Phase 3 of the Central Avenue stormwater separation initiative. The capital project aims to mitigate urban runoff and reinforce aging drainage culverts along the lower downtown commercial district.
Additionally, council members passed the first reading of Ordinance #2026-44, advancing a zoning classification change for parcels near 1800 Central Avenue to permit mixed-use commercial and multi-family residential redevelopment.
The next regular session of the Dubuque City Council is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
