Dubuque City Offices Closed, Service Modifications for Memorial Day

MAY 20, 2025

The City of Dubuque will observe the Memorial Day holiday by closing all City offices, including City Hall and various facilities, on Monday, May 26.

On Memorial Day (Monday, May 26), there will be no curbside collections such as trash, recycling, yard waste, or food scraps by City crews. Residents who typically have collections on Monday must instead have their carts and bins set out by 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 24. Additionally, the Dubuque Metro Area Solid Waste Agency facilities will also be closed on Memorial Day.

Dubuque’s public transit service, The Jule, will not operate on Memorial Day, and there will be no enforcement of parking meter violations for the day.

The Carnegie-Stout Public Library will be closed on both Sunday, May 25, and Monday, May 26.
