Police from the University of Wisconsin responded to a shooting incident at Wilgus Hall. Upon arrival, they found two individuals, Kelsie Martin and Hallie Helms, both aged 22, suffering from gunshot wounds. Martin was taken to Southwest Health and subsequently airlifted to UW Hospital, where she was declared dead. A preliminary autopsy indicated that Helms died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
