A busy evening in Dubuque saw three individuals taken into custody for various offenses. The first arrest occurred at 5:25 PM when Christopher Adonay Gonzalez, 21, was apprehended for Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana 1st Offense (M) at an address on East 9th Street and Kerper Boulevard.
Just over three hours later, a series of incidents unfolded. At 8:50 PM, Patricia Ann Valentine, 56, was arrested for Public Intoxication (M) at a residence on Jackson Street. Approximately 15 minutes later, at 9:05 PM, Kyler Shane Furstenberg, also 21, was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct-fighting/violent Behavior (M) and Public Intoxication (M) at an address on East 15th Street and Jackson Street.
The final arrest of the evening took place just a few minutes later, at 9:19 PM. Katherine Elizabeth Burcham, 42, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct-fighting/violent Behavior (M) at the same location as Furstenberg’s arrest.
Patterns and Trends: The majority of these arrests occurred in the evening hours, with two taking place within a short 25-minute span. Marijuana possession and public intoxication were the most common charges. Additionally, all three arrests involved individuals under the age of 42.
Estimated Penalties: Under Iowa law, Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana 1st Offense carries a penalty of up to $625 in fines and/or up to one year’s imprisonment. Public Intoxication is typically punishable by up to 30 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $500. Disorderly Conduct-fighting/violent Behavior can result in fines up to $2,000 and/or imprisonment for up to two years.
