Dubuque, IA – July 15, 2025 – The Port of Dubuque Marina is excited to announce its annual Lighted Boat Parade, scheduled to enchant viewers on Saturday, August 9, from 5 to 11 p.m. The theme for this lively community event is “Retro Rewind,” inviting participants to adorn their boats in styles reminiscent of their favorite decades, from the funky 1970s to the vibrant 1990s.
This free, family-friendly occasion will commence at 5 p.m. at the Port of Dubuque Marina, featuring a variety of activities suitable for all ages. Attendees can enjoy live performances by Marzipan Mailbox from 5 to 10 p.m., indulge in delicious offerings from food trucks such as Pulido’s Tacos, The Hangry Hobo, Hibachi Time, and Freddie’s Popcorn Company, and take advantage of a cash bar. Children can have a great time in the free play zone, equipped with inflatables and activities supervised by the City of Dubuque’s Rec-n-Roll trailer. As twilight descends, the highlight of the night will unfold: a stunning parade of illuminated boats cruising along the Mississippi Riverwalk.
Boater Registration Information
The marina is welcoming boaters to participate in the parade for a $50 registration fee per vessel. Registration will remain open until Monday, July 28, and includes several enticing benefits:
• A commemorative t-shirt for the boat captain

Boats will compete in two size categories: 32 feet and under, and over 32 feet. Awards include:
