A Special Weather Statement was issued on July 11 at 2:54 PM CDT by the National Weather Service (NWS) Quad Cities IA IL.

At 2:53 PM CDT, Doppler radar was monitoring slow-moving thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall along a line that stretched from near Maynard to near Rock Creek Lake. The storms were moving northeast at a speed of 30 mph. HAZARD: Minor flooding and wind gusts exceeding 40 mph. SOURCE: Radar observations. IMPACT: Gusty winds could result in minor damage to tree limbs and could displace unsecured items. Expect traffic to slow or be redirected due to ponding or flowing water. There may be closures of waterfront access due to flooding. Areas affected include Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Independence, Vinton, Manchester, Marion, Hiawatha, Asbury, Dyersville, Robins, Belle Plaine, Jesup, Center Point, Cascade, Fairfax, Epworth, East Dubuque, Atkins, Farley, and Walford. This warning also includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 16 and 55. If you are outdoors, please seek shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall may lead to localized flooding. Avoid driving through flooded roadways. If heavy rainfall continues, a flash flood warning may be issued. © 2025 National Weather Service
