Dubuque City Offices Closed, Services Modified for Independence Day

The City of Dubuque offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. This closure includes City Hall and various other City facilities.

Curbside collections, such as trash, recycling, yard waste, and food scraps, will not occur on Independence Day (Friday, July 4). Instead, collections will be rescheduled for Saturday, July 5. Residents are reminded to place their carts and bins out by 6 a.m. for collection. This change applies solely to those with a normal collection day on Fridays. Additionally, all Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency facilities will also remain closed on July 4.

The Carnegie-Stout Public Library and the Multicultural Family Center will close early at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, and will not reopen until after the holiday on Friday, July 4.

Public transit via The Jule will be suspended on Independence Day, and the Intermodal Transportation Center will be closed for the day. Parking meter violations will not be enforced in observance of the holiday.

Both Flora and Sutton Pools will operate on limited schedules on Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4.
