**June 16, 2025 – The Parks and Recreation Commission of Dubuque is currently inviting proposals for the naming of a new park in the South Pointe neighborhood, developed by South Pointe, L.L.C. This park is scheduled to be completed this fall and will include amenities such as playground equipment, swings, a picnic table, a park bench, and a bike rack.**
**Proposals must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the City’s Park & Recreation Facility Naming Policy. Acceptable categories include significant historical events, notable individuals or organizations, substantial donations, or geographic considerations. Each submission must include a proposed name along with a justification, and may also include supporting documents such as letters or petitions.**
**Marie Ware, the Parks Director, will be responsible for reviewing all submissions for compliance, verifying documentation, and subsequently forwarding eligible proposals to the commission for evaluation and recommendation to the City Council.
