PEOSTA, IA — Dubuque County has officially announced the commencement of a multi-phase construction initiative on Old Highway Rd, stretching between Peosta and Farley. This project is slated to kick off on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, and will continue through Friday, July 4, 2025, subject to weather conditions.
Phase 1: Culvert Work (Epworth to Farley)
Beginning Monday, June 9, 2025, the first phase will entail culvert work along a 2,008-foot section of Old Highway Rd. A complete road closure is expected between Fishpond Rd and Hartbecke Rd, while lane closures will occur at three points between Fishpond Rd and Boge Rd. A detour will be implemented, and this phase is anticipated to last for 2-3 weeks, depending on weather factors. Please refer to the provided county map for further details.
Phase 2: Culvert Work (Peosta to Epworth)
Once Phase 1 is complete, the second phase will concentrate on additional culvert work between Peosta and Epworth. This phase will feature localized lane closures but will not necessitate a full road closure or detour. An updated map and further details will be made available as the start of Phase 2 approaches.
Phase 3: Road Resurfacing (Peosta to Farley)
The concluding phase will focus on resurfacing Old Highway Rd from Peosta to Farley. Traffic management will be facilitated through the use of a pilot car and flaggers to ensure the safe passage of vehicles.
