**MUSCODA, WI — On May 27, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a tragic fatal accident took place on Highway 133 near Taylor Road in Muscoda, Grant County. Responding to the scene was the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, which investigated a collision involving a motorcycle and a tractor.**
**Matthew Griffith, age 37, from Muscoda, was riding a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound on Highway 133. Simultaneously, Brian Perkins, age 52, of rural Richland Center, was operating a New Holland tractor towing a Kinze planter in the same direction. Griffith struck the rear of the planter, sustaining fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner’s Office. Perkins emerged from the incident unharmed.**
**Investigators verified that both the tractor and the planter had operational lights at the time of the collision. It was noted that Griffith was not wearing a helmet, and excessive speed is suspected to have played a role in the accident.**
