Public Safety Update for November 19th

**Morning Rush Hour**
The day started with a flurry of traffic-related incidents between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM. The Dubuque Police Department responded to multiple reports of reckless driving, including one instance where a vehicle was seen speeding and weaving through traffic on Highway 61.

As the morning commute came to a close, the fire department received several calls related to carbon monoxide poisoning. No injuries were reported in these incidents, but it highlights the importance of having working CO detectors in your home.

**Afternoon Deluge**
The afternoon brought a wave of reports, with the Dubuque Police Department responding to over 20 incidents between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. These included calls for service such as suspicious persons, noise complaints, and traffic stops.

One unusual incident occurred when a citizen reported a loose dog running at large on University Avenue. The police department was able to safely capture the animal and return it to its owner.

**Evening Wrap-Up**
As the evening wore on, the pace of incidents slowed down. However, there were still several calls for service related to noise complaints, suspicious persons, and traffic stops.

In total, the Dubuque Police Department responded to 42 incidents, while the fire department received 5 calls. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office also had a busy day, responding to 15 incidents.
