Dubuque to Offer Complimentary Pickup of Storm-Damaged Tree Limbs and Branches

**JULY 14, 2025**

Beginning on Tuesday, July 15, the City of Dubuque, located in Iowa, will initiate a complimentary service for the collection of tree limbs and branches that were downed due to the storms that affected the area on Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11. The last day for this no-cost service will be Monday, July 21.

City staff are only able to collect storm-related branches and limbs that do not exceed three inches in diameter. Residents are required to place the debris at the curb or alley line where they typically set out their solid waste containers. Each branch should not exceed five feet in length and must be tied together using rope or twine. Bundles must not exceed 18 inches in diameter and should weigh less than 40 pounds; any setouts that do not adhere to these criteria will be left uncollected.

The collection will be carried out by the City’s yard waste crews on the resident’s regular trash and recycling collection day, and all debris must be placed out by 6 a.m. Residents are not required to contact City personnel to arrange for limb or branch collection.
