A 58-year-old man from Platteville, Scott R. Floerke, sustained injuries in a UTV accident on Sunday morning in Lima Township, as reported by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 6:29 a.m. when Floerke was traveling east on Richter Road and attempted to make a right turn at the intersection with Banner Road.
The UTV overturned, trapping Floerke beneath it; however, a good Samaritan intervened and helped free him before the arrival of deputies. Following the incident, Floerke was taken to Southwest Health Center in Platteville for initial treatment and subsequently transferred to UW Hospital in Madison for further care.
In addition, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wardens, along with Southwest Health Center EMS and Precision Towing from Platteville, responded to the scene. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
