On June 29, 2025, an event in the Village of Bagley, Wisconsin, has prompted an ongoing investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 12:43 a.m., officials responded to a report of a person requiring medical assistance behind the Ship Wreck Bar, located at 123 Main St, Bagley, WI.
After an altercation occurred outside the bar, a victim was taken to a local hospital and subsequently transferred to Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. As the investigation unfolded, Jason Britton, aged 34, from Colona, Illinois, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct. He has since posted bond and been released.
Tragically, one individual involved in the dispute was discovered deceased at their residence in Fennimore, Wisconsin, on June 30, 2025. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with the Grant County Coroner’s Office and UW Hospital to investigate the cause and manner of death, a process that may take several weeks to finalize.
