DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Dubuque Police Department (DPD) is calling on local residents to participate in the feedback process via the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) Public Portal, which underscores the department’s dedication to transparency and building community trust. DPD first earned CALEA accreditation in July 1993 and has successfully completed the reaccreditation process ten times, the latest being in 2024, confirming its compliance with the highest public safety standards.

The CALEA Public Portal enables community members to submit comments, commendations, or any pertinent information regarding DPD’s service quality and its adherence to CALEA standards. Feedback submitted through this portal is sent directly to CALEA, not to DPD, and plays a crucial role in guiding the accreditation efforts. It is important to note that CALEA is not an investigative entity; thus, this portal should not be used for reporting incidents that require investigation.
