A confrontation outside the popular Ship Wreck Bar located in the River of Lakes area of Bagley resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old man from Illinois on June 29, 2025. At around 12:43 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, along with Bagley First Responders and West Grant EMS, responded to reports of an individual requiring medical assistance behind the bar.
Upon their arrival, deputies collected information from eyewitnesses and those involved in the incident. The victim was subsequently taken to Crossing Rivers Health Center in Prairie Du Chien and later transferred to Gundersen Medical Center in LaCrosse for more intensive care.
Following their investigation, authorities arrested Jason Britton, a resident of Colona, IL, charging him with one count of disorderly conduct. Britton was processed and booked into the Grant County Jail, where he subsequently posted bond and was released.
