**PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On June 23, 2025, around 4:10 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident that resulted in injuries on Hwy 81 near Blockhouse Road in Platteville Township. The incident involved a collision between a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado operated by Mary Hofer-Furlong, 56, of Cuba City, and a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Conner Hill, also from Cuba City.**

**Reports indicate that Furlong was heading south on Hwy 81 when she came to a stop due to traffic congestion. While checking her rearview mirror, she observed Hill’s vehicle approaching at a high speed. Hill, who was traveling south with two minor passengers, crested a hill and momentarily turned his attention away to speak with a passenger. Upon returning his focus to the road, he was unable to brake in time and rear-ended Furlong’s vehicle.**

**All occupants were wearing seat belts, and the front airbags in Hill’s vehicle deployed during the crash. The three individuals in Hill’s vehicle, including the two minors, were taken to Southwest Health in Platteville for treatment, while Furlong declined medical assistance and stayed at the scene.**

**Furlong’s Chevrolet Colorado was towed by Donnies Tire, located in Dickeyville, and Hill’s vehicle was removed by Precision Auto in Platteville. The Platteville Fire Department and Southwest Health EMS provided support to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office during the incident.**
