Dubuque County Road Update: Closure of New Melleray Rd for Culvert Replacement Work

DUBUQUE COUNTY, IA — Officials from Dubuque County have declared a temporary closure of New Melleray Rd as work begins on the replacement of two crossroad pipe culverts. This construction endeavor is set to commence on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 7:00 AM, impacting a 2.15-mile segment of the road located between N Cascade Rd and Monastery Rd.

Beginning June 9, county workers will focus their efforts on the section north of Bakey Ln to facilitate the culvert replacement, necessitating a full closure of the roadway during daytime hours. The Dubuque County Road Department urges motorists to exercise caution near the construction site and to follow all posted warnings and detour signs. Should weather or other unforeseen circumstances affect the project’s schedule, updates will be communicated. For further inquiries, residents may reach out to Dubuque County road services.
