Iowa’s State Shooting Sports Championships Begin

Cedar Falls, IA – The shooting sports season in Iowa is officially underway, attracting numerous student athletes from elementary through college to compete in a series of six championship events in the coming weeks. Competitors have the opportunity to win scholarships, awards, and acclaim while participating in events organized by the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP).

These youth programs are designed to promote personal development through competitive shooting, instilling core values such as fair play, accountability, sportsmanship, and self-discipline.

• June 2-8: Trap Shooting at Iowa State Trap Shooting Home Grounds, Cedar Falls, IA

• June 12-14: Sporting Clays at Highland Hunting, Riverside, IA

• June 18-21: Skeet at New Pioneer Gun Club, Waukee, IA

• June 28-29: Rifle & Pistol at Olofson Shooting Range, Polk City, IA
