Dubuque Judge To Determine If Dubuque Man Fit To Stand Trial

A Dubuque man accused of killing his mother earlier this year appeared in Dubuque County District Court for a competency hearing recently.

In the coming days, Dubuque District Court Judge Thomas Bitter will review both reports and determine Tyler Dazey’s suitability. Dazey was arrested in January after his mother Jennifer Dazey was discovered dead in their shared house on Avoca Street.

He is facing trial for first-degree murder and animal abuse charges, according to the most recent report. He was found to be incompetent to stand trial after a february investigation.
